Closing Time
THE SIGNING
As closing approaches and your loan receives final approval, we’ll confirm your appointment with our go-to closing attorney, consistently ranked the #1 real estate attorney in the Triangle. The signing typically takes about 30 minutes, and we’ll be right there with you at the closing table to celebrate.
Your final amount due is typically confirmed about 48 hours before closing and must be wired directly to the attorney’s trust account.
Important: We will never ask for your banking information or send you wiring instructions.
Official instructions will come directly from the attorney’s office through a secure portal. Before sending any money, call the attorney using a trusted phone number and personally verify the account information. Never rely solely on wiring instructions received by email or text. Wire fraud is a very real threat, and this brief verification call is essential.
Signing the documents does not mean the home is officially yours just yet. The attorney must complete the remaining steps and record the transaction with the county. You should plan to receive your keys toward the end of the day, once recording is complete.
Because recording times can vary and you may not receive your keys until the end of the day, never schedule movers, deliveries, contractors, or any other activity at the home on closing day without receiving prior approval from us.
CONGRATULATIONS!
Once the transaction is recorded, the keys are yours and your next chapter officially begins. We’ll follow up to make sure everything is buttoned up, but our relationship doesn’t end at closing. We’ll remain here for you long after you move in, whenever you need us.
